History of Cedars-Sinai
Since its inception in 1902, Cedars-Sinai has evolved to become the largest nonprofit hospital in the western United States - one that is internationally renowned for the best patient care modern medicine has to offer. This dedication to excellence is beautifully portrayed in the Jewish Contributions to Medicine mural located in the Harvey Morse Auditorium.
Today, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is committed to providing superior outpatient, acute and sub-acute patient care, breakthrough biomedical research, graduate and undergraduate medical education and community service.
In 2013, for the 18th year in a row, Cedars-Sinai has won the National Research Corporation's Consumer Choice Award (NRC) for providing the highest quality medical care in the Los Angeles region based on a survey of area households.
Every year the NRC conducts an independent survey of hospitals. Cedars-Sinai has ranked number one in best overall quality of healthcare and has been awarded its prestigious Consumer Choice Award every year since 1996. NRC's surveys are considered Southern California's "gold" standard in healthcare information.
