Paula Van Gelder

Paula Van Gelder, Associate Jewish Chaplain, in the Spiritual Care Department at Cedars-Sinai.  She is  a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).  At UCLA, she earned two master's degrees. She has been at Cedars-Sinai for many years where she finds great fulfillment, working closely with Rabbi Jason Weiner.

Chaplain Van Gelder's late teacher, mentor and friend, Rabbi Levi Meier, PhD, of blessed memory, continues to be a great source of inspiration and guidance for her.

She feels honored to share deep, meaningful moments with patients and their families, enriching her understanding of what it means to be human.  She is an active participant in the Los Angeles Jewish community.
