Rabbi Sarah Barukh
Rabbi Sarah Barukh is a Jewish chaplain.
Rabbi Barukh earned her rabbinic ordination from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at American Jewish University, along with a master’s in rabbinic studies. She also spent time in Israel studying at Hebrew University’s, Rothberg International School and at The Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem.
Prior to joining the Spiritual Care Department, Rabbi Barukh served as a chaplain intern at Cedars-Sinai and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she began her clinical pastoral education training. She served as a rabbinic intern for Community Tikvat Jacob in Manhattan Beach, Calif., and as an educator at Camp Alonim in Simi Valley, Calif., and Los Angeles Hebrew High School.
At Children’s Hospital, Rabbi Barukh focused on patients and families of diverse religious backgrounds in the oncology and cardiovascular intensive care units. At Cedars-Sinai she sees patients throughout the medical center while also specializing in supporting patients and families coping with long-term respiratory illnesses and liver/kidney transplants.
