Anthony H. Alter, MD

Orthopaedic Surgeon

Anthony H. Alter, MD is an orthopedic surgeon with the Department of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His primary clinical duties include performing hip and knee replacement surgeries.

A fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Alter is a member of the American Medical Association. In addition to his years of experience in surgery, Dr. Alter was a surgeon for the United States Army Medical Corps from 1966-1968, serving his tour of duty in Vietnam.

Dr. Alter has written articles for numerous peer-reviewed publications, including the Western Journal of Medicine, Journal of Diseases in Children, Military Medicine, and American Journal of Medicine.

Dr. Alter received his bachelor's degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from the Northwestern University Medical School. He fulfilled a rotating internship at Mt. Sinai hospital in Milwaukee and completed an orthopaedic residency at the Northwestern University Medical School.
