Swaminatha V. Gurudevan, MD, FACC, FASE, FSCCT
Swaminatha V. Gurudevan, MD, FACC, FASE, FSCCT, is a cardiologist at the Division of Cardiology at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute.
Dr. Gurudevan's area of expertise is in the field of cardiac imaging. He is a nationally recognized expert in noninvasive cardiac imaging, including echocardiography and cardiovascular computed tomography. In addition to being a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, he is a member of the American Heart Association and the Los Angeles Society of Echocardiography.
Dr. Gurudevan has written numerous articles for peer-reviewed publications and has authored and co-authored book chapters on many areas related to cardiology and cardiac imaging. Dr. Gurudevan has presented scientific abstracts of his research findings at conferences nationwide and is on the editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology-Cardiovascular Imaging.
Dr. Gurudevan is board certified by the ABIM in Internal Medicine and is subspecialty certified in Cardiovascular Diseases. He has been recognized by the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) as a diplomate in comprehensive adult echocardiography. He has also been recognized as a diplomate by both the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology(CBNC) and the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CBCCT).
A Southern California native, Dr. Gurudevan graduated from Stanford University with bachelor's and master's degrees in biological sciences and earned his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society while graduating fifth in his class. He completed an internal medicine residency and a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of California, San Diego where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow and worked under the mentorship of Dr. Anthony N. DeMaria, MD. He then completed a Cardiac-CT Mini Fellowship at St. John's Cardiovascular Research Center, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, being mentored by Matthew J. Budoff, MD.
