Amin J. Mirhadi MD
Amin J. Mirhadi, MD is a faculty physician with offices in the Samuel Oschin Cancer Center and a member of the Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center - A Project of Women's Guild at Cedars-Sinai.
Dr. Mirhadi's primary clinical and research interests include breast cancer, lung cancer, brain tumors and spine and lung radiosurgery (image-guided) as well as Gamma Knife Radiosurgery. He is a regular and active participant in the Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center Multidisciplinary Tumor Board.
Dr. Mirhadi is board certified by the American Board of Radiation Oncology. He serves as a board member of the charity organization Music for a Cure, that provides music related gifts and therapies for children going through a difficult treatment process.
In a constantly evolving specialty, Dr. Mirhadi has focused his research and departmental development efforts on enhanced localization techniques, a sub-division of radiation oncology that allows for more precisely guided radiation therapy. At Cedars-Sinai, he is able to utilize leading-edge technology to help provide the highest level of care available. Other research interests include biomarkers for better detection of disease (for example, hexokinase 4 PET scans and F-L-thymidine PET scans), and patient immobilization techniques.
Dr. Mirhadi has published several articles prestigious journals and has written three chapters for widely used textbooks. His chapter, Recent Advances in Radiation Oncology in the Management of Lung Cancer, was published in the Textbook of Pulmonary Diseases in 2009. He has written several editorials and chapters related to bladder and prostate cancer, including one published in Seminars in Oncology in 2011. A keynote speaker for several grand rounds presentations, Dr. Mihardi is active in community education and residency training. He regularly holds lectures and clinical rotations for breast surgical oncology and gynecologic oncology fellows.
Dr. Mirhadi completed his training at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles and performed an Internship in general surgery at the Santa Barbara Cottage Health System. He joined Cears-Sinai in 2006.
