Antoine (Alhajje) Hage, MD
Director, Solid Organ Transplant Cardiology
Antoine (Alhajje) Hage, MD is Director of Solid Organ Transplant Cardiology at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. He also is a clinical professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Hage's research focus and interests have been in cardiac and liver transplantation, cardiomyopathy and exercise training in heart failure, cardiovascular disease and heart failure in patients with diabetes and cancer, and cardiac complications of cancer therapy. He has published more than 25 articles in peer reviewed publications, has written 70 abstracts and has co-authored two book chapters related to heart transplantation and the experience at UCLA.
Dr. Hage is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American Heart Association and the UCLA Liver Transplant Program. While at UCLA, he was Medical Director of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and he served as a member of the Morbidity and Mortality and Rehabilitation Services Committees.
After earning his medical degree at Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels, Belgium where he graduated magna cum laude, Dr. Hage stayed on to perform his internal medicine residency followed by a cardiology fellowship for cardiology certification (summa cum laude). He came to the United States and performed an internal medicine residency, where he was chief resident, at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. After performing a cardiology fellowship at UCLA, Dr. Hage remained at UCLA as a member of their clinical cardiology division until joining Cedars-Sinai.
