Carole Hurvitz MD

Carole H. Hurvitz, MD, is a physician consultant for Pediatric Hematology /Oncology in the Pediatrics Department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She previously served as Director of the Division of Pediatric Hematology /Oncology. Dr. Hurvitz is an Emeritus Health Sciences Professor of Pediatrics at the David Geffen School Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Dr. Hurvitz joined Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in 1976 and became Director of the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center, as well as Director of Pediatric Hematology /Oncology. From 1984 through 1986 she was Acting Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai while also serving as Acting Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the UCLA School of Medicine.
Dr. Hurvitz is a past member of the Medical Board of California, Division of medical Quality, an appointment she received from former Governor Pete Wilson. She was also appointed to the State of California Physicians Assistant Committee. She served on the medical Advisory Committee of the Leukemia Society of America. Dr. Hurvitz is a member of the California Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, American Society of Hematology and the Children's Oncology Group.
Dr. Hurvitz received her medical degree from the University of Sheffield School of Medicine in England. She completed her internship in medicine and surgery at King Edward VII Hospital in Windsor Berks and a fellowship in pathology at UCLA's Center for Health Sciences. Additionally, she completed her pediatric residency at Cedars-Sinai and a hematology-oncology fellowship at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
