Joseph M. Kahwaji, MD, MPH
Joseph M. Kahwaji, MD, MPH is a nephrologist at the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Kahwaji’s research interests include intravenous immunoglobulin therapy in highly-HLA sensitized patients. His research has appeared in numerous peer-reviewed journals including Transplantation and the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. He is a member of the American Society of Transplantation and the American Society of Nephrology. A prolific speaker, he has presented and spoken at numerous conferences and seminars. Dr. Kahwaji is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in nephrology.
After graduating with a bachelor’s of science in psychobiology from the University of Southern California, Dr Kahwaji earned his master’s of public health from San Diego State University. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a nephrology fellowship at Southern California Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Medical Center. He also completed a transplant nephrology fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles.
