Michael A. Kropf, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at the Cedars-Sinai Spine Center, specializing in the treatment of cervical and lumbar disease, disc arthroplasty, scoliosis, deformity and complex spinal reconstruction.

Dr. Kropf's research on the diagnosis and treatment of spine conditions has led to more than a hundred published peer-reviewed articles and abstracts, and many presentations at national and international conferences.

Dr. Kropf is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, California Medical Association and Orange County Medical Association. He is a clinical investigator for advanced technologies, including artificial disc replacement, motion preservation and spinal fusion biologics.

Dr. Kropf graduated with a bachelor's degree with honors in biomedical science from the University of California, Riverside (UCR). He earned his medical degree from UCR and completed a surgical internship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine's General Surgery Department. He also completed an orthopedic residency at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center and a fellowship in spinal surgery at UCLA under the direction of Dr. Edgar Dawson and Dr. Rick Delamarter.
