Joshua Pevnick, MD
Joshua Pevnick, MD, is a hospitalist in the Inpatient Specialty Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles.
As a health services researcher, Dr. Pevnick studies the use of health information technology to improve health care quality and efficiency. A long-standing interest in this area led to prior work experience at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and Zynx Health. Current areas of special interest to Dr. Pevnick include electronic prescribing and health information exchange. In this capacity, Dr. Pevnick also serves as an adjunct researcher for the RAND Corporation.
Dr. Pevnick earned his bachelor's at Pomona College and his medical degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia. During medical school, Dr. Pevnick was awarded a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to spend a year studying at the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dr. Pevnick then completed a residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai and a fellowship in health services research at the West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital. In conjunction with this fellowship, he was awarded the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society's (HIMSS) Foundation Master's Scholarship and went on to earn his master's degree in health services from the University of California, Los Angeles.
