Nursing
The nursing staff at Cedars-Sinai has long been recognized for its professionalism and contribution to the superlative quality of patient care at the Medical Center.
This reputation for excellence is a result of the ongoing dedication and support not only of the hospital's nursing leadership, but also of the board of directors, medical staff, executive management and employees.
As a result of that teamwork, in 2008 Cedars-Sinai was re-awarded the Magnet Excellence in Nursing designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Cedars-Sinai is one of only seven organizations in the state to achieve this status, which recognizes commitment to nursing development and quality care. In 2000 Cedars-Sinai became the first medical center in Southern California to receive Magnet designation. The ANCC found that Cedars-Sinai's nursing services "represent the highest standards in the nation and internationally."
Under the visionary guidance of Linda Burnes Bolton, DrPH, RN, Chief Nursing Officer, a variety of innovative programs have contributed to a committed, empowered nursing staff at Cedars-Sinai. Among the benefits of joining the organization's nurses are:
- Ongoing nursing education programs sponsored by the Brawerman Nursing Institute at Cedars-Sinai.
- Quality and customer service training through the Quality Initiative Program
