Periodontal Therapy

1. Diagnose the various case types of periodontal disease
2. Institute the appropriate treatment
3. To be familiar with nonsurgical and surgical therapeutics
4. Understand the indications for chemotherapeutics to treat pathology
5. Diagnose and treat the periodontal emergency
6. Understand the current literature

Pulpal Therapy

1. Diagnose the need for endodontics and other pulpal therapy
2. Familiar with endo techniques
3. Pulpal therapy for immature root development and apexification
4. Perform simple endodontics surgery
5. Provide clinically acceptable root canal therapy
6. Provide appropriate pain and anxiety controls
7. Understand the literature

Medical Risk Assessment

1. Obtain a thorough and accurate medical history
2. Perform a detailed physical assessment
3. Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests
4. Request appropriate medical consultation
5. Integrate assessment into dental treatment

Obtaining Informed Consent

1. Explaining options of treatment and advantages/disadvantages
2. Communicating sequelae of no treatment
3. Obtaining written approval

Providing Comprehensive Tx.

1. Obtain accurate records
