OB-GYN Residency Academic Accomplishments

Residents are required to complete a research project under faculty advisor direction, suitable for publication.  They are expected to have a topic selected by the end of their PGY-1 year and to give a preliminary presentation of their proposed project by the beginning of their PGY-2 year.  The residents present their results at a dedicated “Residents Research Day” at the end of their third year.  As a graduation requirement, residents are expected to prepare a manuscript suitable for publication. Graduating residents are also expected to propose, investigate and present a Grand Round on a quality improvement project of their selection as a requirement

Table 1 presents the number of resident research projects in the various areas of study in Ob/Gyn, and example topics from 2006 to 2011.   Table 2a-d summarizes the academic achievements of our 4th residents during the 2011-2012, 2010-2011, 2009-2010, and 2008-2009 academic years.
