Palliative Care, Clinical Nurse Specialist
Linda Gorman, RN, MN is the palliative care clinical nurse specialist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Ms. Gorman also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Nursing and at California State University, Los Angeles. She is part of the in-patient consultation team in Palliative Care.
Ms. Gorman holds special certification as an advanced practice nurse in psychiatric nursing (CNS-BC), a hospice and palliative nurse (CHPN) and an oncology certified nurse (OCN®). She is also certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in California. She received her bachelor degree from California State University, Los Angeles and her Master's degree in nursing from UCLA.
Ms. Gorman specializes in end of life care, pain management, bioethics, geriatrics, pain management and psychosocial care. She is a member of several committees at Cedars-Sinai, including Bioethics, Nursing Research Council, Education Council. She also is the co-author/editor of several nursing textbooks including Psychosocial Nursing Along the Cancer Continuum and Psychosocial Nursing for General Patient Care. Ms. Gorman also has a number of other publications in end of life care through the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association. She is a former board member and past president of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association.
