Cedars-Sinai has served the needs of Medicare beneficiaries since the program began in 1966.

Medicare offers several different types of coverage, and there are specific open enrollment periods in which you can enroll or change your coverage. Plans include Part A, Part B, Part C and Part D.

I Have a Traditional Medicare Plan

If you have traditional Medicare (Part A and/or B), your coverage likely will remain the same and will include coverage for care at Cedars-Sinai.

I Have a Medicare Advantage Plan

Cedars-Sinai is participating in two Medicare Advantage HMO plans.

If you are enrolled in these plans, you can choose a primary care doctor in either the Cedars-Sinai Medical Group or Cedars-Sinai Health Associates and be referred to specialists within these groups.

If you are a current Cedars-Sinai Medical Group patient with insurance through a UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plan, your primary hospital will change from Olympia Medical Center to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center effective Nov. 1, 2014.

What does this mean for you?

  • The Cedars-Sinai physicians and staff who have taken care of you will not change, and you will be able to remain with your existing primary care physician (PCP). Our commitment to providing you with outstanding medical care and a high level of service will remain.
  • Our physician office locations will not change.
  • Through Oct. 31, 2014, you will need to go to Olympia Medical Center for hospital services. After Nov. 1, 2014, your primary hospital will be Cedars-Sinai.
  • It is possible that you will receive new identification cards from UnitedHealthcare due to this change.

I Have a BOTH Medicare and MediCal

If you have both Medicare and Medi-Cal (called dual eligible), you may have the choice to participate in a new pilot program called Cal MediConnect.
