Cedars-Sinai Executive Medical Services program offers advanced, state-of-the-art clinical care to international and other corporate executives and their families in the Greater Los Angeles area. The goal of the Executive Medical Services program is to provide the highest level of care with particular sensitivity to the needs and concerns of top corporate executives.

Your continued good health is one of the most strategic components of your company's bottom line. Yet very often, as a decision maker, you can be so busy taking care of business, you forget to take care of yourself.

The Cedars-Sinai Executive Medical Services Program can change all that. This specialized medical evaluation is a patient-centered health care service, overseen by a dedicated team. We are committed to providing you with only the most appropriate testing to benefit your health. No unnecessary scanning or testing will be recommended.

We also know how valuable your time is, and want to make the best use of it. So even though your evaluation will be a half-day process, we minimize the downtime and the waiting time.

Package Options: A Personalized Evaluation

All executive packages use leading-edge diagnostic procedures and technology. Each includes a comprehensive medical history and physical examination conducted by a board-certified physician, a variety of laboratory and diagnostic tests, a lifestyle assessment, and a personalized written health status report.

NOTE: Our Executive Physical Packages are currently under review, and may differ slightly from the procedures listed below.

BASIC EXECUTIVE HEALTH EVALUATION

This evaluation emphasizes the early detection of health problems, as well as health maintenance.

The Components:

  • Comprehensive physical examination including a detailed review of family and medical history
  • Imaging tests, including chest X-ray, cardiac CT scan, and full Abdominal Ultrasound - to detect early signs or increased risks of cancer, coronary artery risk, abdominal aortic aneurysm or stroke
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) - determines a baseline for cardiac risk
  • Pulmonary function test - analyzing lung capacity to check for early signs of emphysema or other lung conditions
  • Prostate exam and PSA screening for men - for detecting early-stage prostate cancer
  • Pelvic and Pap test for women - checking for early signs of cervical cancer
  • Mammogram for women - screening for early breast cancer as age appropriate
  • Lab tests to screen for blood count abnormalities, cholesterol levels, liver, kidney, and thyroid functions, cardiovascular risks, and prostate, colon and rectal diseases. Include but not limited to Complete Blood Count (CBC), comprehensive cholesterol panel, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), fecal occult blood testing, highly-sensitive C-reactive protein (CRP), thyroid (TSH), and urinalysis (UA)
  • Hearing test - identifying signs of hearing impairment
Additional diagnostic tests may be requested. Certain tests are specifically not recommended due to incidences of false positives.

COMPREHENSIVE EXECUTIVE HEALTH EVALUATION

Comprehensive Executive Health Evaluation is an extensive evaluation designed for the executive whose activities may include traveling abroad. In this package, immunization are updated, and early detection of disease and evaluation of health status are the main emphasis. If applicable, travel-health needs are also addressed using the most up-to-date Centers for Disease Control travel-health guidelines.

  • Comprehensive physical examination including a detailed review of family and medical history
  • Imaging tests, including chest X-ray, cardiac CT scan, carotid artery ultrasound, and full Abdominal Ultrasound - to detect early signs or increased risks of cancer, coronary artery risk, abdominal aortic aneurysm, or stroke
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) - determines a baseline for cardiac risk
  • Pulmonary function test - analyzing lung capacity to check for early signs of emphysema or other lung conditions
  • Prostate exam and PSA screening for men - for detecting early-stage prostate cancer
  • Pelvic and Pap test for women - checking for early signs of cervical cancer
  • Mammogram for women - screening for early breast cancer, as age appropriate
  • DEXA Bone Density Test - evaluating the possibility of bone fractures
  • Lab tests to screen for blood count abnormalities, cholesterol levels, liver, kidney, and thyroid functions, cardiovascular risks, and prostate, colon and rectal diseases. Include but not limited to Complete Blood Count (CBC), comprehensive cholesterol panel, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), fecal occult blood testing, highly-sensitive C-reactive protein (CRP), thyroid (TSH), and urinalysis
  • Hearing and vision tests - identifying signs of hearing or vision impairment
  • Immunizations - protecting against flu and tetanus
  • A tuberculosis skin test - screening for tuberculosis
Additional diagnostic tests may be requested. Certain tests are specifically not recommended due to incidences of false positives.

ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTICS

Additional diagnostic tests and evaluations are available through Executive Medical Services.

  • Specific Health Issue Assessment - if an individual has a specific medical issue and requests an extended consult or a second opinion on a specific medical problem, this can be arranged when setting an appointment or in conjunction with the Executive Medical Services physician.
  • Colonoscopy - typically recommended every 5 years starting at age 50, this test helps identify risks of colon cancer. If there is a family history of colon cancer, individuals should have their first colonscopy 5 years before the youngest person within their family who was diagnosed with colon polyps or colon cancer.
  • Spiral CT of Chest - the most comprehensive scan available in determining lung cancer risks
  • Treadmill Test - while the cardiac CT scan included in all executive health evaluations will detect coronary artery disease at an earlier stage than a treadmill test, many patients and physicians request this diagnostic. This can be done be done with nuclear imaging or ultrasonography.
  • Immunizations - many adults neglect to update their immunizations, and executives who frequent more distant and exotic locations require specific immunization preparations:
    • Diphtheria, polio, shingles, pneumonia, measles, mumps and rubella
    • Travel Related Counseling and Immunizations
  • DEXA Bone Densitometry - this state of the art scan goes beyond screening heel tests to evaluate hips, thighs, and femurs to help identify osteoporosis and fracture risks.
  • Full body mole check - performed by a board-certified dermatologist. Best practices indicate that after age 50 a full body mole check should be conducted annually. This can be pre-arranged with a Dermatologist to be scheduled concurrently with the Executive Medical Services evaluation.
  • Carotid Ultrasound - this scan of the carotid artery is a highly accurate predictor of stroke and is recommended for those who have experienced a stroke or those who are at high-risk.
  • Tonometry and Glaucoma Screening - these diagnostics check for potential hearing impairments, and the major cause of preventable blindness.
  • Additional Laboratory Analysis - while all executive physicals include laboratory analyses, there are innumerable additional tests which may be of interest and importance, such as:
    • Vitamin D
    • Vitamin B12
    • Ferritin (Iron metabolism)
  • Evaluations can also be arranged in a variety of subspecialties including:
    • Cardiology
    • Dermatology - Cosmetic & Non-Cosmetic
    • Gastroenterology
    • Nutritional Counseling
    • Ophthalmology and Optometry

Comprehensive Results

You will receive a personal phone call from the Executive Medical Services physician to review your results. If a problem is detected, the EMS physician arrange any appropriate referrals or appointments. If not, your physician will assemble the full battery of tests results and develop a complete Health Status Report for you.

This personalized Health Status Report will not only present a clear and comprehensive summary of your test results, it will also provide you with the knowledge to chart your best course of action in achieving a variety of health goals. The Report is a self-contained, accessible and easily transportable package.
