Newly Diagnosed AA/AO/AOA with 1p/19q Codeletion : RTOG 1071
PHASE III INGERGROUP STUDY OF RADIOTHERAPY vs TEMOZOLOMIDE ALONE vs RADIOTHERAPY WITH CONCOMITANT AND ADJUVANT TEMOZOLOMIDE (IRB# 23210)
Phase III Intergroup Study of Radiotherapy versus temozolomide alone versus radiotherapy with concomitant and adjuvant temozolomide for patients with 1p/19q codeleted anaplastic glioma CODEL -RTOG
- Newly diagnosed and ≤3 months from surgical diagnosis
- Histological confirmation of anaplastic glioma (oligodendroglioma, mixed, orastrocytoma [WHO grade III]), as determined by pre-registration central pathology review. Tumor must also be co-deleted for 1p and 19q.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a survival advantage for those who receive concomitant temozolomide and RT followed by adjuvant temozolomide (Stupp regimen), over that observed in patients treated with RT alone (control).
- Arm 1: RT and concurrent temozolomide followed by adjuvant temozolomide x 6 cycles
- Arm 2: RT Alone x 6 weeks
- Arm 3: Temozolomide x 12 cycles
