Expert Evaluation and Diagnosis by Head and Neck Specialists
Under the leadership of Director of the Head and Neck Cancer, the physicians at the Head and Neck Cancer Center are experienced in the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques for removing tumors. This helps protect the surrounding tissues as much as possible. These specialists use state-of-the-art imaging technologies to assist them in making accurate and timely diagnoses.
Through the Center patients also have access to:
- Pain management expertise
- Cosmetic reconstructive surgery and voice rehabilitation in cooperation with other Cedars-Sinai specialty centers
- Advanced chemotherapy
- Radiotherapy, including intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and implant brachytherapy, which deliver focused radiotherapy to tumors with minimal damage to surrounding tissue
- A Tumor Board that meets monthly at the Center to review individual patient cases and provide recommendations on the most optimal treatment alternatives.
- Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, which provides almost all radiation and chemotherapy on an outpatient basis
