The purpose of 24-hour antroduodenal manometry is to measure the pressure in the small intestine before and after a meal and during sleep and waking hours. The measurements provide information about how the stomach and small intestine work.
To prepare for the study:
- Do not eat or drink anything after midnight (If you are diabetic, please talk to your primary care doctor)
- Do not use gum, mints, or cigarettes the morning of the exam.
- Please ask your physician about taking other scheduled medications.
