Thank you for referring your patient to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centers Medical Genetics Institute. Our team is committed to providing the best care for your patient and to serving as a resource for you in your practice. Recent advances in genetic testing have made it possible to provide testing options for common conditions such as mental retardation or autism, as well as providing access to diagnostic testing for numerous rare syndromes. Our adult team is using cancer genetic testing to determine eligibility for targeted chemotherapies (BRCA and PARP1 inhibitors), as well as offering counseling about genetic testing for sudden death or other adult-onset cardiac diseases such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
There are multiple ways to refer a patient to our clinic.
- Complete the New Patient Referral Form and fax it to 310-423-2080. Please be sure to attached pertinent records
- Have the patient call the Genetics appointment line: 310-423-9914
- Fax a prescription for genetics consult and pertinent patient demographics to 310-423-2080
Once we receive your new patient referral, a member of our staff will contact the patient and begin the appointment process. In addition to providing demographic information, please provide any medical records that are pertinent to the diagnosis. This will enable us to schedule the patient most accurately and provide services in a timely fashion.
We will make every attempt to contact your patient, however if we are not able to reach the patient, we will notify you via fax/mail.
