Preparing for your Delivery
If you are planning your delivery at Cedars-Sinai, you can complete your hospital registration well in advance of your due date. In so doing, you will need only your insurance card and any necessary insurance forms when you arrive. Pre-Admission forms are available online, from your doctor or the Cedars-Sinai admitting office.
Please click here to access the OB Pre-Admission Form (.pdf) and complete in full.
You may mail the form to:
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
L&D Admissions Office
8700 Beverly Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90048
Or you may fax it to (310) 423-0104.
If there are questions concerning the admitting process to Labor & Delivery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, please call at (310) 423-3381.
When you arrive in labor, please check in at the Emergency Room nursing station. We will take you to the Labor and Delivery Unit.
If you are scheduled for a cesarean delivery, go directly to the Labor and Delivery Unit on the third floor of the North Tower building.
Please refer to the Cedars-Sinai Campus Map for the designated parking areas and structures. Parking is also available at the Beverly Center, just east of the Medical Center.
Parking When in Labor
When you are in labor, please have your driver park in the Emergency Department parking lot.
Parking for Scheduled Cesarean Section
Please have your driver park in the Emergency Department parking lot.
Valet parking is available in the South Tower parking lot.
Discounted parking passes can be purchased from the Parking Office by calling (310) 423-5535.
Free parking is provided for you on the day of admission. Discounted parking is given on the day of discharge. You may come and go within the first 24 hours; however, each ticket will need to be validated at the Third Floor Admission Desk.
When you are discharged, your parking ticket will be validated in the Street Level Discharge Area. If you have parked in South Parking Lot, your parking is free. In any other Cedars-Sinai Medical Center parking lot, a reduced rate will apply.
We encourage you to talk to your physician about the kind of labor and delivery you want. You may want to discuss your medication and anesthesia options, Lamaze or Bradley methods of childbirth, fetal monitoring during labor and positions for delivery. This is a time to decide if you want family or friends with you during the labor and delivery. You can also decide who will cut the umbilical cord - you, the father, the coach or the doctor.
Your Labor and Delivery Plan
Detailed planning helps the doctor and reduces your anxiety about the birth of your child, even though unexpected situations may change your plans. Be sure to share your plan with the nurse during the early part of labor so she can establish the best possible environment for you and those who will attend the birth.
At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you will be given the most advanced care available in maternity services. Most deliveries are without complications, but in the rare situation in which a problem occurs, enhanced care is available.
