Prepared Childbirth Series

We offer a variety of childbirth classes to meet all of your birthing and scheduling needs.  A complimentary Maternity Tour is included in the 4-part and 3-part Prepared Childbirth Class, the Cesarean Class, and the Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) class. Special arrangements for a tour can be made with the other childbirth classes.  Please speak to the instructor

Prepared Childbirth Series 

The Prepared Childbirth Series is available in the following formats:

• 4-part - meets once a week for four weeks.  Each class is 2 1/2 hours.
• 3-part - meets once a week for three weeks.  Each class is 3 hours.
• 2-part - meets once a week for two weeks.  Each class is 3 hours.
•  A one day intensive which meets for 5 hours.

*Please note that the 2-part and one day classes are condensed classes and, therefore, offer an overview of the following topics and a brief practice period.  Some students may benefit more from taking the longer classes.

These classes cover the following topics:

• Physical and emotional aspects of pregnancy, labor, birth and recovery
• Role of the birthing coach
• Relation, breathing techniques, and other pain coping strategies
• Variations in labor and delivery
• Pain relief options
• Cesarean birth
• Recovery and postpartum

Plan to enroll in this class during the fifth month of pregnancy and to start the class during the seventh month of pregnancy. Note: Bring 2 pillows to class.

Class availability is on a first come first served basis. Fee: $150.00 per couple. Please note that class dates listed below do not reflect a guarantee of availability.

Prepared Childbirth Series (Three Part)

This three-week series for mothers and their partners meets once weekly for three hours. Topics covered are physical and emotional changes of pregnancy, the role of the labor coach, Lamaze techniques for relaxation and breathing, variations in labor and delivery, cesarean birth and pain relief options. The 2, 3, and 4-week series also include a maternity tour. Plan to enroll in this class during the fifth month of pregnancy and to start the class during the seventh month of pregnancy. Note: Bring 2 pillows to class.

Thursday Classes

Prepared Childbirth Series (Two Part)

This two-week series for mothers and their partners meet once a week for two weeks. Each meeting is three hours long.
