Vulvar Cancer Treatment
Vulvar cancer usually affects older women, but it may occur at virtually any age. Symptoms include persistent itch or irritation, abnormal discharge and changes in the color or appearance of the vulva. Risk factors include diabetes and chronic vulvar irritation.
Vulvar lesions should be biopsied to determine malignancy. Vulvar cancer is often curable by surgical removal of the lesions and adjacent lymph nodes. Additional treatment may involve radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
