Autopsy Pathology

The Autopsy Pathology Service conducts autopsies on Cedars-Sinai patients at the request of the physician or the family. Cedars-Sinai provides this service to its patients at no charge to the family. The autopsy is a medical procedure carried out by pathologists to learn more about disease for the benefit of future patients and for the benefit of family members and other loved ones.

 

Services offered:

  • 2nd opinion/consultation forms
  • Determination of cause of death if unknown, uncertain or questioned
  • Documentation and evaluation of inheritable genetic conditions
  • Extent of disease progression
