Total Skin Electron Treatment
Total skin electron treatment is used to treat skin lymphomas such as mycosis fungoides. The procedure uses a low energy radiation beam to treat the entire surface of the skin. Since the therapy does not penetrate deeply into the body, vital organs are unaffected.
Treatments are given four times a week for two to three months and the majority of patients show dramatic response.
Patients need to be able to stand and follow specific instructions for approximately 30 minutes.
