The radiation oncologists in the Radiation Oncology Program work with professional experts, including psychosocial, pain management and nutritional support staff members to develop individualized therapy programs for each patient.
Patients with a malignancy receive the highest quality radiation therapy currently available at the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. Using state-of-the-art radiation technology, our oncologists, therapists and staff collaborate to design custom treatment plans for each and every patient who comes to the Department. By doing so, most patients will feel better, faster and normal, healthy tissues usually will be spared or minimally impacted from the effects of radiation.
Because we recognize research is essential to providing the most current, promising treatment, patients have the opportunity to participate in the latest clinical trials.
Should they need it, radiation therapy patients also have access to the Infusion Center at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute as well as diagnostic, medical and surgical services at Cedars-Sinai. Since the Medical Center houses physicians in almost every specialty area, all patient care needs can be provided in one location from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up monitoring.
