Gamma Knife

Gamma Knife is the preferred treatment for certain types of brain disorders. These include:

  • Brain cancer
 
  • Benign brain tumors
  • Brain metastases
 
  • Trigeminal neuralgia
  • Pineal tumors
 
  • Pituitary adenomas
  • Acoustic neuralgia
 
  • Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMS)
  • Thalamic pain syndrome
 

There is no "knife" in Gamma Knife. With surgical-like accuracy, small beams of gamma rays deliver the radiation to the affected area.

This treatment is safe, accurate and effective. Because no incisions are made, it avoids the risks and complications associated with traditional surgery. The treatment is performed in one day and usually does not require an overnight stay in the hospital.
