Cancer Survivorship and Rehabilitation
We understand that life is different after a diagnosis of cancer. The effect of the disease or its treatment may present unique challenges. Under the leadership of Arash Asher, MD, we are committed to treating the whole patient and not just the disease. Through the Cancer Survivorship and Rehabilitation program is dedicated to helping cancer survivors live their lives to the fullest.
For many cancer patients, returning to "normal" life can be a difficult transition. Our Survivorship and Rehabilitation Service seeks to address the physical, psychological and information needs of cancer patients and their families as they complete their cancer treatment. The transition to survivorship care is a positive step that embraces wellness, quality of life, education, and health promotion.
Taking advantage of the talents of an interdisciplinary team, our goal is to improve the quality of life of our patients. This may include goals such as improving physical fitness, managing pain or reducing fatigue.
The Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center offer a number of unique programs and services for our cancer patients and survivors, including:
- Cancer Exercise Recovery Program
- Emerging from the Haze (“Chemobrain” Rehabilitation Program)
- Lymphedema Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
