Urology Academic Practice

The Urology Academic Practice at Cedars-Sinai brings together global leaders offering comprehensive management for adult and pediatric urologic conditions. The practice provides complete care including prevention, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of disease. Our team has expertise in urologic oncology, nephrolithiasis, benign urologic conditions for men and women, male infertility and sexual disorders, reconstructive surgery, and pediatric urology. The practice uses minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat diseases of the urinary tract utilizing endoscopy, laparoscopy and robotic surgery. Compared to open surgery, minimally invasive surgery may require only a few small incisions or none at all. If your physician determines that you are an appropriate candidate for minimally invasive urologic surgery, this means you may have less pain and faster recovery compared to open surgery.

Our team continues to make major contributions in the field through our research and residency and fellowship training. As a tertiary care center, we attract referrals for subspecialty urologic care for complex cases and highly specialized procedures. We work with referring physicians to determine the best course of treatment for each patient, keeping the referring physicians apprised of the patient’s condition. At the appropriate time, the patient is referred back to the referring physician for continued management, while the program's physicians remain available for consultation on the care and management of patients.
