Immunizations
The Joint Commission has established immunization guidelines based on recommendations from a 2006 National Quality Forum Harmonization Workgroup. These guidelines for influenza and pneumonia vaccination apply to all patients regardless of the reason they were admitted to the hospital.

Immunization Measures
The following measures are based on evidence that the practices described in the left column lead to better outcomes for patients who come to a hospital with pneumonia.
