Ishita Sharma, MD, is a physician in Palliative Care Services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She is board certified in family medicine and her research interests include pharmacological pain management for pediatric patients.

Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai in 2011, Dr. Sharma completed a fellowship in pain medicine from the Department of Palliative Care and Pain Management at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Her area of expertise includes treating pain and addressing other symptoms of serious illness, including advanced cancers. She specializes in helping adult and pediatric patients manage their symptoms in order to improve the quality of their lives. Dr. Sharma has a special interest in addressing chemo-induced mucositis, which can cause severe pain and end-of-life issues.

Dr. Sharma earned her medical degree from RG Kar Medical College in India. Following her medical training, Dr. Sharma completed her residency in family medicine at Louisiana State University-HSC Shreveport and then served as assistant professor of family medicine at the university in 2010.
