Dr. Cokic earned his medical degree from the University of Novi Sad in Serbia. After completing extensive postdoctoral research training at Northwestern University (Divisions of Nephrology/ Hypertension and Cardiac Electrophysiology) and at the University of Chicago Lung Injury Center, he joined the Biomedical Imaging Research Institute in January 2011 as a Project Scientist.  His principle research interests relate to the mechanisms and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

Avinash earned his bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Birla Institute of Technology, India and completed a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University. He is currently a doctoral student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. In the Dharmakumar group at BIRI, he studies the pathophysiological consequences of hemorrhagic myocardial infarctions following ischemia-reperfusion injury using MRI.

Randy earned his Bachelor of Science from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan from the Dept of Photonics, where he focused in Biophotnic system construction and development. He went on to earn his master's degree at Northwestern University in Electrical Engineering and joined Dr. Dharmakumar’s research in Cardiac MRI. He is now a doctoral student at the University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. His current research interest are cardiac BOLD MRI and USPIO labeled cell imaging. print button
