Funding Opportunities

 BIRI Seed Grants

The Biomedical Imaging Research Institute (BIRI) is offering limited seed grants for Cedars-Sinai researchers needing assistance collecting pilot data for the purpose of grant applications. Approved projects are given certain number of hours of imaging time (including technical assistance). The researcher is responsible for the costs of any supplies (including contrast agents or isotopes). Interested researchers should submit a BIRI Seed Grant Application along with a Project Application Form to imagingcore@csmc.edu. Applications are reviewed and approved based on a peer-review process and availability of the imaging systems.

Researchers who receive a BIRI Seed Grant agree to the following requirements:

  • Submit a BIRI Seed Grant Progress Report every 6 months
  • Acknowledge the research support on all related abstracts, publications, and presentations using the following statement:
“The imaging portion of this research was supported in part by the Biomedical Imaging Research Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center."
  • Provide BIRI a copy of all publications by emailing imagingcore@csmc.edu
  • Budget sufficient funds for imaging studies in future grant applications

Center for Translational Technologies (CTT) Core Vouchers

Cedars-Sinai is a partner institution in the UCLA Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI), an academic-clinical-community partnership designed to accelerate scientific discoveries and clinical breakthroughs to improve health in the most populous and diverse county in the United States. To achieve its mission of advancing translational research, the CTSI periodically awards vouchers worth up to $10,000 to defray the cost of core services, including all modalities in the Research Imaging Core. Open RFA's will be posted on this page only during the application period. More information can be found here or by contacting Debby.Peterson@cshs.org
