Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship
Led by some of the nation’s best educators in health science, our programs are at the forefront of translational medicine and healthcare innovation.
Cedars-Sinai offers a two-year Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship that provides clinical research experience and cardiac imaging training in multiple modalities, including cardiac computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron-emission tomography (PET).
The research program includes a broad variety of projects working with a strong clinical and scientific faculty in cardiac CT, PET, single photon emission computed tomography and MRI, from the Cardiac Imaging Section, the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Program and the Biomedical Imaging Research Institute.
In addition to gaining experience in cardiac imaging research, fellows participate the clinical and educational activities of the Cardiac Imaging Section in the Department of Imaging and the Smidt Heart Institute.
The fellowship is funded by a cardiac imaging research program under the direction of Daniel S. Berman, MD, director of the fellowship program and director of Cardiac Imaging and Nuclear Cardiology at the Smidt Heart Institute and the Imaging Center.
Training & Curriculum
Fellows gain experience in all facets of cardiovascular imaging, as well as specialized training in current therapeutic modalities.

We are proud to name so many esteemed physicians and highly regarded researchers, all representing nearly every major medical discipline, as members of the cardiovascular imaging training program leadership and faculty.
Graduates from the Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship program have moved on to successful careers throughout the Cedars-Sinai community and across well-established institutions all over the U.S.
Facilities & Resources
Fellows have access to some of the best-equipped clinical and research facilities in the world.
The Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship training takes place at two facilities:
- S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center: A state-of the-art imaging facility with 1.5T MRI, dual source CT, PET/CT and SPECT-CT specifically dedicated to cardiac imaging.
- Biomedical Imaging Research Institute: Provides comprehensive imaging services, including 3T MRI and PET/MRI clinical and large-animal research, as well as micro PET, SPECT, CT and MRI for small-animal research.
