Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine Fellowship
Led by some of the nation’s best educators in health science, our programs are at the forefront of translational medicine and healthcare innovation.
The Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine Fellowship is an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education–accredited program that provides comprehensive training in all aspects of transfusion medicine, including blood donor collection, immunohematology, transfusion practices, therapeutic apheresis, tissue banking and stem cell processing. The mission of the fellowship is to provide outstanding education in all aspects of blood banking/transfusion medicine. The program prepares fellows for a career in either a hospital transfusion service or blood center setting, to successfully pass the American Board of Pathology blood banking/transfusion medicine subspecialty exam and to become effective educators. The program provides ample resources including a generous annual educational stipend and support for clinical and translational research.
Training & Curriculum
Fellows gain experience in all facets of Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, as well as specialized training in current therapeutic modalities.
