- Local VM cluster—Local VMs that can be used to generate virtual database and application web servers (Windows or RedHat Linux)
- Cloud storage on AWS (short-term and archival)
- Local storage—Local file share, centrally managed and backed up daily
- Enterprise-licensed software—Supplied at no charge and available via Service Center
- Programming and application development for ad hoc collaborative projects (billable to project)
- Database application development platform
- REDCap is the primary database application development platform for research studies. It is a web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. It is set up as a self-service tool to reduce the turnaround time for building a research database, and it allows for easy database enhancements by study teams.
Use the Honest Enterprise Research Broker (HERB) Committee to:
- Obtain CS-Link data extracts to support your grant submissions and Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved studies
- Assess risks associated with protected health information (PHI) research data stored externally
- Identify data sources and cohorts pre-IRB submission
- Discuss and optimize your research question

The HERB Committee meets weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. You can schedule a 30-minute appointment when you submit your request. You will be expected to discuss your protocol or request and respond to any questions the committee may have. If all questions have been answered satisfactorily, your submission will be approved. If the committee has concerns, your submission will be deferred to a subsequent meeting.
