Application Information
Qualified candidates must have completed an adult or pediatric general gastroenterology (GI) training program; applicants who attended medical school outside the Unites States must have ECFMG certification and have passed all USMLE examinations to apply. All applicants are expected to apply for a California medical license. We typically support 2 fellows per academic year.
Applications must consist of the following:
- CV - Curriculum Vitae
- Three letters of recommendation, including one letter from your GI fellowship program director
- Personal statement demonstrating your interest in IBD and our fellowship program
- Completed Cedars-Sinai GME Application
The application period for the Advanced IBD Fellowship Program is approximately 1 ½ years prior to the fellows anticipated start date. For example, applicants interested in starting July 2026 should email their completed application materials to our program coordinator: Polly Chang at polly.chang@cshs.org between September-December 2024. Qualified applicants will be invited to then interview with our faculty in January or February 2025. Exceptional candidates with a strong desire to train at our program and contribute to our academic mission will additionally be considered on a rolling basis.
We are no longer accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. We are currently accepting applications for the 2026-2027 academic year to start on July 1, 2026 and for the 2027-2028 academic year to start on July 1, 2027.
