The program received initial ACGME accreditation in July 2000.
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) assesses the educational quality of graduate medical education programs in each medical specialty. This assessment provides licensing, credentialing and funding agencies, as well as the public, with a level of assurance that physicians have undergone training in graduate medical education programs that meet or exceed established standards. Completion of radiology residency training from an ACGME-accredited program is required for a California medical license.
One year.
Yes. Candidates apply through ERAS and are selected through the Match.
There is a one-month rotation at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. All other training occurs within the hospital.
Fellows receive medical, dental and insurance benefits, effective from the beginning of the program.
Yes. The department will pay for one conference or national meeting, including registration, airfare, food and hotel. Fellows may attend other unpaid neuroradiology-related conferences with approval of the program director.
Yes. Fellows may participate in research with an assigned mentor. This research includes designing a project, participating in statistical designs and understanding Institutional Review Board requirements, as well as preparing abstracts, papers and presentations for publication.
About 45 hours.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or have completed a diagnostic radiology residency from a program accredited by the ACGME. There are no exceptions.
