Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is a 958-bed quaternary care facility with medical education as a core mission. The medical center is a Level 1 trauma center. There are many Centers of Excellence and institutes within Cedars-Sinai that provide outstanding anatomic and clinical pathology case material from patients of all ages.
Research in the Yu Laboratory is focused on immune and stem cell therapy for brain tumors, the cancer stem cell (CSC) and its microenvironment in brain tumors, cancer stem cell-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes, cancer stem cell signaling, the mechanism of cancer invasion, targeted immuno-chemotherapy using nanotechnology, development of imaging and diagnostic agents using nanoparticles.
Also located within the hospital is a medical library with a collection of books emphasizing clinical medicine. It is searchable using the library's electronic catalog. Also available are popular magazines, newspapers and computers with internet access to health and medical resources.
