Application Information
The purpose of the Mechanical Cardiac Support and Cardiac Transplantation Fellowship in thoracic surgery is to provide an academically and clinically rigorous 12-month training program. This fellowship is for board-certified/board-eligible thoracic surgeons interested in pursuing a career in thoracic organ transplantation and assist devices.
Prerequisite Training/Selection Criteria
- Medical degree from accredited medical school.
- Board certification (or eligibility) by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
- Eligibility for an unrestricted California license as a physician and surgeon (must have completed 36 months of ACGME-accredited training prior to being eligible).
- Proven excellence in teaching, and in the organization of both clinical and nonclinical activities.
