Bairey Merz Lab
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both women and men every year. Yet, until recently, women's heart disease treatment has been based on medical research performed on men. The Bairey Merz Lab at the Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center is working to correct this gender inequality in research, as well as to educate women on how to recognize female-pattern heart disease symptoms.
Personal Statement
I have a broad background in cardiovascular disease and prevention, with specific training and expertise in key research areas. I lead the Bairey-Merz lab with a strong imaging network, success in protocol establishment and active collaborations. My track record ensures effective mentorship for trainees in high-relevance projects."
