Bonda Lab
The Bonda Lab at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s is investigating the single neuron and network-level dynamics governing volitional control over reflexive and higher order behavior. We believe that a better understanding of the neural basis of cognitive control can have significant impact on the understanding and treatment of neuropsychiatric disease, especially within the pediatric population, where early executive deficits can be a harbinger of severe neuropsychological pathologies.
Personal Statement
We are a systems neuroscience lab and use a combination of in-vivo, single-unit electrophysiology and intracranial electrocorticography in conjunction with behavioral, computational, and theoretical approaches. Our work capitalizes on the unique opportunities provided by pediatric epilepsy patients undergoing invasive seizure monitoring. These patients and their families are the foundation upon which our cross-disciplinary investigations are made possible, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
