Breakthrough Research

Our research objective is to establish an interdisciplinary program investigating innate immune response in the respiratory system. We are unraveling how these responses influence allergic and inflammatory lung diseases, with a specific focus on lung-resident mast cells and alveolar macrophages. We aim to develop novel therapeutic strategies for conditions like asthma and lung fibrosis. Current research projects include:

  • Understanding lung mast cell-specific innate immune responses in chronic asthma
  • Understanding alveolar macrophage-specific innate immune responses in pulmonary fibrosis
  • Developing therapeutic inhibitors for treating inflammatory lung diseases.
