Personal Statement
My interest in human factors is drawn from a background in psychology, a passion for aviation and an interest in design. Throughout my private pilot training, I became fascinated by the complexity of systems, how they function and how to better design them for the user. The dynamic nature of healthcare continually presents new challenges and our research seeks to identify innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency and overall wellbeing."

Breakthrough Research
Our research seeks to understand the relationships among task, team, technology and environment to create a patient- and practitioner-centered healthcare system that delivers high-quality, safe care at an affordable cost. Our research takes a multidisciplinary approach to an in-depth understanding of the current challenges faced in delivering care and pursues improvements through enhancing the integration of technology and teamwork. The Human Factors Design and Innovation Lab also leverages expertise from a range of experts and industries to translate quality and safety lessons into improved clinical outcomes.
