Visiting Students Learning Opportunities Information & Coordinators
We appreciate your interest in senior student electives at Cedars-Sinai. We are using the Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) to receive visiting student applications. This service is available to MD and DO students enrolled in a U.S. LCME-accredited school or a VSLO-participating, COCA-accredited, AACOM member college.
To apply to our institution for any senior student electives, complete and send us a VSLO application for your preferred electives and dates. Include all required and supplemental documentation along with your application. You must also have completed all required clerkships and be in your final year by the time you enroll in an elective.
International medical students will not be able to apply for courses offered at Cedars-Sinai through VSLO or directly to Cedars-Sinai. They may only submit an application through our academic affiliation with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Please visit UCLA's Visiting Students website for additional information.
Student Elective Coordinator
Student program coordinators process student enrollment through Cedars-Sinai's academic affiliation with UCLA. Elective enrollments are processed through Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO). All correspondence with Cedars-Sinai regarding the status of your elective request and inquiries regarding availability of a specific elective will be addressed by the appropriate student coordinator listed with each elective program.

Notification and Acceptance Process |
Student coordinators contact the student applicant with an elective offer. The applicant must respond to accept the offer and submit an online payment of $150 within 3 days from the time the offer was made in order for enrollment to actually take place. |

Payment |
Students will receive an email invoice from medstudentelectives@cshs.org. |

Cancellations and Refunds |
The elective fee is nonrefundable or transferable to another elective. |
|
Course Catalog |
Visiting students will be considered for senior clinical electives only. Core clinical clerkships are not available to visiting students. |

Evaluation |
Visiting students should upload their home school's evaluation to VSLO or bring a copy with them for completion by the elective sponsor. |

Correspondence |
All correspondence with Cedars-Sinai regarding the status of your elective request and inquiries regarding availability of a specific elective will be addressed by the Student Program Coordinator in the service for which you are applying. |

Parking |
Parking fee is $20 for the term of the elective. Students will need to pay this fee directly to the Parking Office on their first day of rotation. |

Housing |
