Membership and Responsibilities
Membership
Membership in the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center is available to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center faculty who have an interest in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, and who meet the criteria outlined below.
- Demonstrated commitment to Biostatistics and Bioinformatics research through scientific productivity.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, educational and / or training programs related to Biostatistics and Bioinformatics.
- Regularly attends and participates in the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center sponsored seminars, committees and forums.
Membership will be reviewed and renewed annually, based on membership criteria. Initial and renewal applications will be reviewed by the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center Director. The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center Director has final authority on approval, disapproval, or termination of membership. Final approval and notification to the candidate for membership and status will be provided by the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center Director.
At the inception of the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center, all biostatisticians and bioinformaticians at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center will be invited to participate in the Center.
Responsibilities
Members are expected to contribute to the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center through support of and participation in the Center’s activities, and to:
- Support the mission, goals and priorities of the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center.
- Provide the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center with an annual summary of research activities and an updated NIH bio-sketch (including all publications and research support) and list the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center as an affiliation on all publications.
- Serve on program and review committees as needed.
- Attend and participate in the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Center sponsored seminars, journal clubs, committees and forums.
