Jones Lab
Our research spans two primary domains; improving understanding of the heritable risk for cancer, and mapping changes in the tumor genome through cancer progression to understand the mechanisms that underlie chemo-resistance and relapse. We use new genomics technologies, apply gold standard bioinformatics methods and perform multi-omic analyses to discover how genetic variation impacts disease risk, initiation and progression. We generate our own genomic data sets in the lab and complement them by collaborating with large consortiums and biobank studies to perform multi-cohort and population scale analysis.
Personal Statement
I am an assistant professor in the Center for Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics, co-director of the PhD Program in Biomedical Sciences and co-director of the Cedars-Sinai Applied Genomics, Computation and Translation Core Lab. My research lab has developed analysis approaches for diverse genomic data types that include both germline and somatic genomics, primarily in ovarian cancer. I have a strong focus on training bioinformaticians in an academic research environment.
