Personal Statement
Dr. Fan is Associate Professor of Biomedical Sciences and Technical Director of 3-Tesla MRI of the Research Imaging Core at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is also Professor-in-Residence of Departments of Medicine and Bioengineering at UCLA. His career as a magnetic resonance (MR) imaging scientist has been focused on the development and clinical translation of novel MR methods for fast and precise assessment of human diseases. His research is dedicated to multiple disciplines including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and neurological diseases. He has authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications and over 200 conference abstracts. His research is well funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and some Foundations. Dr. Fan actively serves as reviewers for funding agencies (such as NIH, American Heart Association), conferences, and journals. He was elected as Junior Fellow by the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine in 2013 and as Fellow by Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance in 2018.
